Men's Soccer Set To Face Off Against Winthrop On The Road

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston Men's Soccer will travel to Rock Hill, S.C. to face off against Winthrop on Wednesday, Sept. 25 with kick-off scheduled for 6 p.m.
Last Outing
The Cougars were defeated by Northeastern in CofC's second CAA matchup of the year by a score of 4-2. The Cougars played a dominant first half, leading the Huskies 2-0, but couldn't keep the lead. Northeastern stormed back to score four unanswered goals and took the win. Junior Jake Nicholson and senior Tucker Heffron logged the two goals of the match for The College, with junior Chris DeMartino and sophomore Steven Cahill registering an assist each.
The Opponent
Winthrop came into the 2019 season finishing with a 4-11 overall record and a 3-5 conference record in 2018. This season, the Eagles have registered a 1-5 overall record with their only win coming from 6-0 victory against Georgia Southwestern. Head Coach is in the midst of his fourth season at the helm of the program and his 16th season with the program. The Eagles bolster four goal scorers this season.

• Senior Tucker Heffron and Nicholson are the lone goal scorers for the Cougars this season.
