CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston Men's Soccer play host to CAA foe William & Mary on Saturday, Sept. 28 with kick-off scheduled for 7 p.m. at Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant, S.C. The Cougars will honor Head Coach Ralph Lundy with a pre-match Field Dedication Ceremony. Fans are encouraged to arrive at 6:30 p.m.
Last Outing
The Cougars fell to Winthrop in the second golden goal extra time period in a back-and-forth match by a score of 3-2. After the Eagles took the lead in the 34th minute, junior Cole Gulledge quickly evened the score in the 36th minute when he knocked in his first goal of the season. Winthrop took the lead back just before halftime, but junior Rio Murray gave the Cougars life when he scored his first goal of the season in the 68th minute. Ultimately, CofC lost in the second golden goal extra period.
The Opponent
W&M finished the 2018 season with an overall record of 6-10-2 and a 3-3-2 conference record. This season, the Tribe hold a 1-4-2 overall record and a 0-1-1 record in CAA play. W&M's only win came from a 2-0 victory over Loyola Maryland. Head Coach Chris Norris is in the midst of his 16th season at the helm of the program and 29th overall season with the program. He has amassed 136 wins with 114 losses and 41 ties entering the season. The Tribe are led by Alexander Levengood, who has scored a team-high three goals so far this season.
