The short story: The College fell to a solid University of Miami (Fla.) team in its season opener.

OPENING SERVE

The Hurricanes took the doubles point after taking down the combinations of Johnny Wang/Noah Borges and Ben Cawston/Karl Mosterd by scores of 6-2 in each match.
Sophomore Johnny Wang was taken down in straight sets by No. 63 nationally ranked Adria Soriano Barrer.
Junior Karl Mosterd put up a good fight against Francisco Bastias of Miami after taking the first set by a score of 6-4, but ultimately lost the second set and the third set tie breaker which gave Miami the point.
Senior Easton Thomas came just short of defeating Tatsuki Shimamoto of Miami but was defeated in straight sets by scores of 7-6 and 6-4.
