Cougars Bounce Back With Win At Home Against Winthrop

The short story: The College bounced back from a loss to Charlotte with a big win over Winthrop with strong play in doubles and singles.
 
OPENING SERVE
  • The combinations of Halli Trinkle/Eva Nyikos and Ava Turner/Catalina Medici took down their opponents at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions, respectively, by scores of 6-1 each match.
  • Nyikos carried the winning momentum into the No. 3 singles position and defeated her opponent by scores of 6-2, 7-5 to give CofC a 2-0 lead.
  • Trinkle followed up a doubles win with a win in the No. 2 singles position as she took down her opponent in straight sets to give the Cougars a commanding 3-0 lead.
  • Medici sealed the win for The College after taking down her opponent in the No. 6 position in straight sets.
  • Anastasia Palaska and Elizabeth Nowak also earned wins in the No. 4 and 5 positions, respectively.
