Cougars Hold Off Eagles' Comeback Attempt On The Road

The short story: The College went into singles play with the doubles point and the Eagles' comeback attempt fell short as freshman Halli Trinkle clinched the match for the Cougars to improve to 9-5 on the season.  
 
OPENING SERVE
  • Hallie Trinkle and Eva Nyikos gave the Cougars momentum in doubles play with a win at the No. 1 position, winning 6-2.
  • The combination of Slade Coetzee and Lily LaBiche earned the Cougars the doubles point, winning 6-4 in the No. 3 position.
  • Nyikos carried her momentum from doubles into singles, giving Charleston a 2-0 lead after taking her opponent down in the No. 3 position in straight sets, only allowing one game against her.
  • Coetzee gave the Cougars the lead back after the Eagles rallied back with two wins at the No. 4 and 5 positions, winning her match in straight sets.
  • Trinkle clinched the match for CofC in the No. 2 position after defeating her opponent in a three-set thriller.
