CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston women's golf squad continues its fall campaign with its third tournament of the season, the Evie Odom Invitational hosted by Old Dominion. The tournament runs Sunday, Oct. 3-Tuesday, Oct. 5 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Head coach Jamie Futrell's group will take on a field of 13 teams including Old Dominion, UCF, Charlotte, North Florida, Campbell, Penn State, Chattanooga, South Florida, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, UNCG and Sacramento State. ODU's tournament is played at the Princess Anne Country Club which features a Par-70, 5,824-yard course.
Last time the Cougars traveled to Virginia Beach, they placed 7th overall with Emily Dunlap pacing the squad at T-13. Dunlap fired a then-career low 67 as a freshman in the final round to cap off a stellar week.
CofC is coming off a T-13 team finish at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship in Knoxville, Tenn. Freshman Emma Schimpf, sophomore Viktoria Hund and senior Jodee Tindal all placed T-44 to lead the squad in Tennessee and all three are atop the Cougars' lineup at the Evie Odom Invitational. Joining them are sophomore Emily Dunlap in the four spot and freshman MK Talledo in the final spot. Talledo is back in the lineup after making her debut at the Cougar Classic on Sept. 13.
