OPENING SERVE
- Gardner-Webb won the first and second flights in doubles to claim the doubles point and take an early lead.
- Robby Krick and Ben Husum delivered a 7-5 win in the third flight as Karl Mosterd and Jake Fraunfelder fell, 7-5, in the second flight.
- Krick held on for a 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles for his second victory of the day.
- Johnny Wang recorded the Cougars' second point of the match after rallying for a 2-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 win at No. 5 singles.
- Mosterd won the opening set of his match at No. 4 singles, 7-6 (7-3) before falling in three sets.
