CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The College of Charleston men's soccer program added a couple of transfers to its roster on Monday.

The Cougars inked winger Chris Matlashewski from Clemson and winger Damon Williams from Akron.

Matlashewski played two seasons at Clemson and redshirted the 2019 season due to injury. Matlashewski started three games in his freshman year in 2018 and recorded an assist against Villanova. In the 2020 season, Matlashewski made seven appearances throughout the season and registered four shots in a match against South Carolina. In high school, Matlashewski was an all-state player his junior year and was all-region all four years of his career. His team also went 40-0 in their region in his four year career.

Williams played two seasons at Akron, the spring 2021 season and the fall 2021 season. In total, Williams appeared in four games. In high school, Williams scored 65 goals through his first three high school seasons before his senior season was impacted by COVID. Williams was named all-state and region player of the year in 2018 and 2019. He is also the all-time leading goal scorer at Dutch Fork High School.
