MK Talledo leads the Cougars' lineup in Greenville
GREENVILLE, N.C. - The College of Charleston women's golf team tees off its final regular season tournament on Monday morning at the ECU Ironwood Invitational in Greenville, North Carolina. The Cougars will play 36 holes on Monday before 18 final holes on Tuesday at the Par-72, 6278-yard Ironwood Country Club.
"I look for us to have a bounce back week this week," head coach Jamie Futrell said. "The golf course fits us better than UGA. The team has had a good spring overall and now we just need to finish strong."
The Ironwood Invitational hosted by East Carolina features a 14-team field including Augusta, Campbell, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, East Carolina, High Point, James Madison, North Florida, Ohio State, Richmond, South Florida, UNCW and Western Kentucky.
Freshman Mary Kathryn Talledo leads the Cougars' lineup in Greenville after finishing a team-best T-39 at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic last time out. Talledo has placed in the Top-40 in six of eight tournaments during a solid rookie campaign heading into Monday's event.
Sophomore Viktoria Hund and freshman Emma Schimpf are slotted in the second and third spots in the lineup. Both Hund and Schimpf have captured multiple CAA Golfer of the Week awards this season with seven combined Top-10 finishes during the 2021-22 campaign. Senior Jodee Tindal makes her 10th consecutive start and Smith Knaffle re-enters the lineup for the first time since the Westbrook Invitational to round out CofC's lineup. Emily Dunlap and Othilie Lied will compete as individuals.
