
Cougars Open Homestand Looking to Climb Back into CAA Race

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston returns home for the first time in two weeks when the Cougars host Stony Brook on Sunday at 1 p.m., and team will celebrate Senior Day prior to the match.
Charleston needs a strong finish over its final four regular season games as it enters the stretch run on the outside looking in for a berth in the CAA Tournament. The Cougars are tied for seventh place with eight points with the top six qualifying for the postseason.
Three of those four remaining matches are at Ralph Lundy Field with contests against Monmouth on Thursday and William & Mary next Sunday also on the docket. The Cougars conclude regular season play on October 22 at Elon.
The Seawolves along with Delaware are the two teams currently tied with Charleston. Both the Cougars and Stony Brook have two wins and two draws on their conference record.
The game is just the second between the two teams after a 0-0 draw last season in New York with Katie Carrino and Savannah Barron both making two saves to preserve the shutout. Barron is coming off a 10-save performance against Northeastern which tied her career high.
