ATHENS, Ga. - The College of Charleston women's golf team sits in 11th after the opening two rounds at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic hosted by the University of Georgia.
The Cougars dropped one position from their T10 place at the end of the day one with a 9-over second round. The team improved their total score by one stroke in the second round from a 298 to 297.
Emma Schimpf rose an impressive 17 places from her day one placement to end day two T9. The sophomore from Daniel Island posted four birdies on the back nine, including back-to-back shots on 17 and 18.
Charleston will look to improve on their final position in Sunday's final round.
