CHARLESTON, S.C.—College of Charleston men's soccer finishes a two-game road trip in Florida on Sunday against North Florida at Hodges Stadium. Kickoff is penciled for 6 p.m.
The Cougars and Ospreys have met five times since 2009 with the two teams ending in a 0-0 draw last season in Mt. Pleasant.
Charleston took the 2-2 draw against Stetson on Thursday. Peter Thomas recorded the first goal of the season and his career. Leonardo D'Ambrosio connected with Thomas for the assist. Chris Elliott added on to give the Cougars a 2-0 lead with Matt Lenert providing the assist. The Hatters gained momentum and outshot the Cougars 13-2 in the second half where two shots ended in goals to even the score at 2-2. Charleston's Olly Marshall recorded six saves.
North Florida fell 1-0 to USC Upstate on Thursday. The Spartans fired 10 shots on offense to just edge the Ospreys' seven, but the difference was USC Upstate's goal four minutes into the game. North Florida's goalkeeper Chema Preciado deterred USC Upstate from scoring in the second half with three saves.
