Charleston Comes Up Short in First Road Match

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- College of Charleston volleyball fell in their first road match of the season Tuesday night at The Citadel by a 3-1 (14-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-22) score.
 
Lexi Wierzbicki turned-in her first double-double with 14 kills and 15 digs while Sofie Vogel had a career-best 11 kills, but the home Bulldogs got 20 from Ali Ruffin and 15 and 12 from Mackenzie Martin and Maddy Cardenas in the comeback win.

  • Charleston extended their streak of first-set wins taking the opening one Tuesday as they hit .361 and blocked four Bulldog attempts
  • The fourth set saw more back-and-forth action just like the Cougars' weekend finale with five lead changes in that final stanza
  • Four Cougars recorded at least five assists for the first time this season led by Jasmin Goei's 20
  • After the Cougars won the first set comfortably, the final three were all decided by five points or fewer
