Rain Alters Cougar Classic Schedule

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston plays the second of three home softball tournaments this season with the Cougar Classic beginning Saturday at Patriots Point.
The original schedule included four games on Friday but those were canceled due to the threat of inclement weather. Oakland, Princeton and SC State will be in town for the now two-day event. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students each day.
The Cougars are 3-5 after dropping a 5-0 decision to Coastal Carolina on Wednesday. SC State is 1-7, and Oakland and Princeton are playing their season openers this weekend.
Charleston holds a 48-2 lead in the series against the Bulldogs. The Cougars have won all three games against the Golden Grizzlies, with the last meeting coming in 2006, and are 1-2 against the Tigers including a victory in the most recent contest in 2014.
