The Cougars are 26-27 overall this season and 14-9 in the CAA.
Julia Sitterding went 3-for-2 with one run and two RBI in the victory.
CRITICAL POINTS
- Down 2-0 in the top of the third, Sitterding tripled and Sierra Paradis scored from first base to get on the board. Leela Langston then tied the game 2-2 with an RBI single.
- Following a two-run homer from Towson in the bottom of the third, Charleston tied the game 4-4 in the top of the fifth. Paradis and Sitterding drove in runs to level the score.
- Charleston took the lead for the first time in the top of the fifth when Savannah Scott grounded out and Langston scored from third.
- Tied 5-5 in the top of the seventh, Austy Miller and Halle Cannon reached on errors. Scott drove in Miller for the lead and Cannon advanced to second. Sam Horn then doubled and Cannon scored Charleston's winning run. Towson would not respond, leaving the final score 7-5.
- Charleston has clinched a spot in the CAA Tournament for the second year in a row and for the first time in the Mrowka era.
- 2026 will mark Charleston's ninth appearance in the CAA Tournament since joining in 2014.
- Charleston had 10 hits against Towson, including three doubles and one triple.
- Campbell Schaen pitched 2.1 innings and struck out three.
- Charleston plays Towson Saturday, May 2 for the regular season finale at 1 p.m.
