STONY BROOK, N.Y. – College of Charleston baseball bounced back with an 11-5 win at Stony Brook Friday afternoon, taking game one of a three game set.Â
After falling by double digit margins in the last two games, the Cougars responded with a bang in New York. With the bases loaded and nobody out in the first,
Cole Singsank pulled a shot over the left field wall for a grand slam to go up 4-0.Â
The Cougars bats continued to add on throughout, scoring in six different innings.
Luke Wood's two-run homer made it a 7-1 game in the third. Two more runs in the sixth put Charleston out of reach at 9-1.Â
The cushion allowed
Jake Brink to attack the Seawolves at the plate as the sophomore gave up three runs in seven strong innings to move to 4-1 on the season.Â

- Avery Neaves went 3-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored.Â
- Cole Singsank went 2-for-5 with two runs and four RBI from the grand slam homer.Â
- Trotter Harlan and Will Baumhofer each had two hits at the top of the lineup.Â
- Jake Brink went seven innings, giving up three earned from six hits and two walks, striking out three.Â
