CHARLESTON, S.C. – The No. 23 College of Charleston men's soccer team fell to Furman on Tuesday night 4-2.
The score remained even through the break, with all six goals in the matchup coming in the second half. The Cougars found the first goal of the night, when a cross from
Ezra White found the head of
Adil Iggoute in the 60
th minute.
Furman took the lead in the 73
rd minute, scoring two goals in 20 seconds. Charleston quickly bounced back to tie the game 2-2 when a shot from
Leonardo D'Ambrosio found the back of the net in the 75
th minute.
The Paladins scored the game winning goal in the 78
th minute, then doubled their lead in the 86
th minute with the insurance goal to take the 4-2 win.
This is the Cougars' first loss of the season, falling to a 6-1 overall record. Charleston will return to Patriots Point on Saturday September 21 for their second conference matchup versus Delaware. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m.
