CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's soccer team hosts Stony Brook Thursday, October 16 at Patriots Point. The match will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Charleston's overall record is now 7-5-2 following the team's second draw of the season against Campbell Sunday, October 12. The Cougars hold a 3-2-1 record in the CAA and currently sit in second in the South division of the conference ahead of Campbell, William & Mary, Elon, and Hampton.

In Sunday's 2-2 draw against Campbell, Sienna Petro found her first career goal and Avery Nassetta scored her fifth goal of the season while Shea Vidovic made assists on both goals. Charleston controlled the ball offensively taking 18 shots to Campbell's eight. Of the Cougar's 18 shots, 12 were on target. Charleston doubled Campbell's corner attempts taking four to their two.

Bella Antonio, Maggie Heffernan, and Nassetta lead the Cougars on the year with five goals each. Along with Antonio's five goals, she has four assists totaling for a team high of 14 points.

Emma Wennar has taken the most shots of any Cougar with 55 shots and 27 shots on target.

Charleston has taken 255 shots to all opponents' 105.

Stony Brook holds a 9-4-1 on the 2025 campaign with a 4-2 conference record. Most recently the Seawolves fell 1-0 to Northeastern on the road. In the conference, Stony Brook has defeated Drexel, Towson, Elon, and Campbell. The Seawolves have not won a CAA match on the road this season.

Charleston will look for the program's first win over Stony Brook in three meetings on Thursday. In the first ever meeting in 2022, Charleston traveled to Stony Brook and the match ended in a 0-0 draw. In 2023, Charleston hosted Stony Brook and found a 1-1 draw. Last season, the Cougars traveled to Stony Brook and fell 3-0.
