MEDINAH, Ill. -
Molly Hardwick and
Carys Fennessy led the College of Charleston women's golf team with a pair of top ten individual finishes at the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah. Hardwick was the top Cougar finisher with a 7-under, sixth place finish out of 85 competitors. Fennessy was one stroke behind with a T7, six-under finish.
The Cougars finished T9 (+1) out of 15 teams in the stacked field.
"We did not play our best today, but hung in there. We can play better, but it was another solid tournament for the Cougars against an outstanding field," said head coach
Jamie Futrell. "Molly and Carys were outstanding all week!"
Hardwick played her second bogey-free round of the week complete with two birdies. The senior led the field in par 3 scoring (3.80, -6).
Adrian Anderson (T51, +4),
Immy Williamson (T78, +12), and
Emilie von Finckenstein (+15, 82) rounded out the Cougar lineup.
Charleston returns to play October 27-28 to host the Edisto Island Invitational at The Plantation Course.
