Senior Day Part of Huge Weekend Series Against Campbell

4/24/2025 12:32:00 PM

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston hosts its biggest CAA series in several seasons when conference leader Campbell visits Patriots Point for three games beginning Friday at 5 p.m.

The series continues Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at noon. Saturday will be Senior Day when the softball program honors Izzy Alley, Kennedy Rhue and Jay Wrightsman prior to the game.

In addition to Senior Day, the weekend also includes Jimmy Buffett Day on Friday with fans receiving a Hawaiian themed koozie. Tickets are $10 for each day and all three games will be streamed on FloCollege.

The Cougars (24-23, 14-7 CAA) need a combination of two wins or UNCW losses at Elon this weekend to clinch a berth in the CAA Tournament on May 7-10 in Buies Creek, N.C. Charleston is in fifth place but just one game behind Stony Brook with the top six teams qualifying.

The 14 conference wins and five series victories are the most for the Cougars since their first season in the CAA in 2014. Charleston is 11-1 at home in conference games with three sweeps.

The Camels (33-13, 18-3) have a one-game lead over Delaware and Elon in the race for one of the top two seeds and an opening round tournament bye. Campbell has won six of its seven CAA series including five sweeps.

Campbell has a 27-12 lead in the series including three wins in Buies Creek last year in their CAA debut campaign. The teams were also members of the Trans America Athletic Conference from 1993-98.
