
Leela Langston and Bronwyn Conroy Earn CAA Honors After Opening Weekend

RICHMOND, Va. – Leela Langston and Bronwyn Conroy earned CAA nods after leading the Cougars to a 4-1 opening weekend.
Langston was named CAA Co-Player of the Week after hitting three consecutive walk-offs over George Mason, Siena, and St. Johns.
A flare for the dramatic as Langston notched three walk-offs in the Cougars' four-win weekend.
Slashing .529/.600/.588, the sophomore went 9-for-17 with five RBIs and four runs scored.
CofC's plate protector came up with runners on first and third in the bottom of the eighth and smacked an RBI single to knock off George Mason, 8-7. The following day, Langston drove in Austy Miller from second on a single up the middle to take down Siena, 5-4. Only a couple hours after that, Langston came to the plate in the seventh inning with runners on second and third and laced a game-winning single past the outstretched glove of the right fielder, taking down reigning BIG EAST regular season champion St. John's, 6-5.
Conroy was named CAA Rookie of the Week after earning five runs in her first collegiate opening weekend.
Conroy produced a solid opening weekend with a .474/.545/.474 slash line, nine hits, five runs scored and three RBIs in a 4-1 weekend for the Cougars.
The Marietta, Ga., native notched three multi-hit games over the weekend, all coming in wins over George Mason, St. John's and Central Michigan. The freshman outfielder also logged her first multi-RBI game over the Patriots, including a single in the eighth inning to put the winning run in scoring position. The Cougars' outfielder also finished the weekend with seven stolen bases.
Charleston hosts Akron Wednesday, February 11 at Patriots Point for the first mid-week game of the season. First pitch is set for 5:00 p.m. with live feed available here.
