Solarski Named CAA Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Jakub Solarski was named the Coastal Athletic Association Player of the Week after going 4-0 in singles and earning five total wins for the Cougars last week.
Solarski never dropped a set and posted a 4-0 mark at No. 1 singles position last week. The junior opened the week with a 6-2, 7-6 (5) victory over Nicholls State's Marcell Marki that clinched the match in a 5-2 team win. He then defeated New Orleans' Jacob Rouleau-Mailly, 7-6 (4), 6-3 as the Cougars pulled out a 4-3 triumph.
Back at home, Solarski rolled past Youngstown State's Matteo Ceradelli, 6-3, 6-0, in a 5-2 win and topped Stonehill's Guillermo Bennaton, 6-4, 6-2 as the Cougars got a 7-0 victory.
This is Solarski's second CAA Player of the Week honor this year. He previously won the award on February 17.
The Cougars will be back in action on Wednesday, March 11 for a home match against Presbyterian. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
