HONORS
• 2016 CAA Doubles Team of the Week (Mar 8)

Junior (2016-17): Appeared in four Fall tournaments, posting a singles record of 5-6 and a doubles mark of 5-3 ... Had an impressive performance at the prestigious USTA Players Choice Open, getting a win against Georgia State's Thomas Cook (6-3, 6-2) before upsetting the No. 3 seeded player on the undercard, South Florida's Justin Roberts, by a score of 7-5, 6-2 ... Secured the Flight One Doubles Championship at the CofC Classic with wins against Vitek/Figura of S.C. State (7-5) and Lehfeldt/Ling of ECU (6-2) ... Posted a 10-8 record in dual singles play, competing primarily at the No. 3 position ... Won five straight matches between March 21 and April 8 ... With the Cougars and DePaul Blue Demons locked up at 3-3, Kichigin defeated Tim Corwin 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 to lift the College to the 4-3 win ... Went 7-7 in dual doubles action, teaming up with Juan Estevarena at the beginning of the season before switching to Franz Sydow and Benedikt Henning later on ... Was named CAA Doubles Team of the Week along with Estevarena after a pair of wins over tandems from Nicholls State and New Orleans ... Pulled off a CAA Tournament doubles win when he and Henning knocked off Ruzic/Simonsen of JMU ... Finished his CofC career with a 37-24 dual singles record and a 24-22 dual doubles record

Sophomore (2015-2016): Posted a record of 12-10 in singles play between the No. 2, 3, 4, and 5 flights, including a 10-7 record at the No. 5 spot. Kichigin also went 9-9 in doubles play, between the No. 1, 2, and 3 spots. As the season progressed, he found himself moving from the No. 3 doubles spot to the No. 2 spot, playing the final six matches in a row at that spot. He picked up a 6-2 win with Juan Estevarena in the No. 1 doubles flight on April 3 against the Citadel. Kichigan played an impactful role in the College’s run for their first CAA Championship, and a berth in the NCAA tournament against No. 3 ranked North Carolina. 

Freshman (2014-2015): 14-7 singles record, including five wins at the No. 3 position. The rest of his matches 16 matches were played at the No. 4 singles spot. In doubles play, Kichigin won three matches at the No. 3 spot, four at the No. 2 position, and he won his only match at the No. 1 spot against Hampden-Sydney. 

High School: Kichigin was a finalist in his native Russia in the ITF G4 singles and doubles... Won the St. Petersburg City Championship (U16) and was a finalist in teh U18 division... Ranked 348 in the ITF... Finalist in Russian national team championship, while representing Saint Petersburg.

Personal: Vasily comes to The College with the hopes of developing his character and his tennis abilities. He aspires to be a professional tennis player and looks up to Milos Raonic for his dedication, hard work and character
