The College of Charleston improved to 4-1 on the season with a 3-0 win over rival Charleston Southern before 254 at Buccanneer Field House on Tuesday.
The Cougars stormed to a 30-17 win in game one. The opening game was even at 12-12 when the Cougars scored the next six points to take an 18-12 lead.
Overall, the Cougars outscored the Bucs 18-5 to end the game and take a 1-0 lead.
In the second game, the Cougars jumped out to an early 10-3 advantage en route to a 30-16 win and a commanding 2-0 lead in the match.
The third and final game was easily the most exciting. CofC moved out to an early 25-15 lead, only to have Charleston Southern go on a 11-3 run cutting the Cougars lead to 28-26. The Cougars hung on for a 30-26 win.
