The Cougars improved to 7-4 overall and hav now won seven straight matches dating back to a 5-2 win over Jacksonville State Feb. 13th. Last year's team won 14 matches in a row. That included the Southern Conference Tournament Championships, which the Cougars won. Hampton fell to 9-5 on the year.
The doubles teams of Timo Siebert/Arhtur Peller and Or Dekel/Philipp Koller won their matches to give the Cougars the early 1-0 advantage. Dekel, Siebert, Bastian Moldhenke, Peller and Liran Kling went on to win their singles matches to give Charleston the final 6-1 decision.
The Cougars take the week off before hosting Southern Conference opponents Georgia Southern Friday, Mar. 12th at 1:00 PM and UNC Greensboro Saturday, Mar. 13th at 12:00 PM. The Cougars then step into the Southeastern Conference with a home match against Tennessee Mar. 14th at 10:00 AM. All matches will be played at the new College of Charleston tennis center at Patriots Point Athletics Complex in Mt. Pleasant, SC.
