The Cougars drop to 8-4 overall and 4-2 in the Southern Conference, while the Paladins improve to 7-10 and 2-0 in the league.
Philipp Koller and Alex Quilis picked up singles wins in the number three and four spots, but Justin Malina, Liran Kling, Perry Allen and Mike Reynolds could not hold off Furman at the number one, two, five and six spots.
Charleston took the number one doubles but fell at numbers two and three to lose the point.
The Cougars host Jacksonville State Mar. 23rd at 2:30 PM, while Furman travels to East Tennessee State the same date and time.
