Badr Bouabdellah earned a three-set win at No. 1 singles leading Chattanooga to a 4-3 win over College of Charleston in Southern Conference men's tennis action at Patriots Point Tennis Center on Monday.
With the win, the Mocs improved to 10-2 overall and 1-1 in league play. The Cougars fell to 4-6 and 0-2. Charleston plays host to Illinois State at 2:00 on Wednesday.
After UTC earned the doubles point by winning two-of-three matches, Bouabdellah beat Charleston's Omer Abramovich 6-2, 4-6, 6-2. Charleston won three singles matchups. Mickael Boyer rallied for a 2-6, 6-3, 6-1 win over Razvan Axente at No. 2, Joe Nicolazzi defeated Pavel Vostrikov 6-4, 6-3 at No. 3 and Christopher Carlton downed Hasan Hamadeh 6-4, 6-2 at No. 5.
Jimmy Petit and Boyer teamed to beat Hamadeh and Robert Diamond 8-2 at No. 3 doubles.
