
Cougars Capture Four Singles Flights at ECU Fall Shootout

Junior John Harden (Atlanta, Ga.) and sophomore Stephen Hardy (Fairfax, Va.) both compiled a perfect 3-0 record against players from host East Carolina, James Madison and Richmond combined. Harden defeated Richmond's AJ Nelson in a third-set super tiebreaker, 6-7 (2), 6-2, 1-0 (9), to capture the D singles flight, while Hardy beat Pablo Arana in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1, to win the G singles flight.
Senior Mickael Boyer (Meudon, France) and sophomore Bryan Roberts (Charlotte, N.C.) were also winners in the C and E singles flights with a 2-1 tournament mark. Roberts, a transfer from Duquesne, and Hardy , a transfer from JMU, both made their CofC debuts this past weekend.
The Cougars will return to action in the coming weeks as they play host to the College of Charleston Invitational to be held on Oct. 22-24 at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
