CARY, N.C. – The College of Charleston men's tennis team picked up some quality wins in both singles and doubles at the USTA/ITA Carolina Regionals in Cary, N.C.
The doubles duo of junior Brice Allanic (Colombes, France) and sophomore Sebastian Lopez (Medellin, Colombia) knocked off teams from North Carolina and Duke, before falling to the eighth-seeded team of Stefan Fortman and Cameron Silverman from Elon in the round of 16.
Additionally, Lopez picked up two wins in singles consolation play against opponents from ECU and UNC Charlotte. Fellow sophomore Alon Faiman (Ramat Hasharon, Israel) scored a victory in consolation play against Hunter Whalen from Coastal Carolina.
“This weekend turned out to be a great learning experience, giving us some new goals for the rest of the fall,” CofC Head Coach Jay Bruner said. “Brice and Sebastian are getting better with every match. We are going to be working hard before our next event at home in Charleston where we always love to play.”
The Cougars will be back in action on Nov. 2-4 when they host the Charleston Challenge at the CofC Tennis Center at Patriots Point.
