Cougars Win Double Flight Championship at UVa Fall Classic

CHARLOTTLESVILLE, Va. – After all was said and done, the College of Charleston men's tennis team was able to secure one doubles flight title and a third-place finish in singles at the UVa Fall Classic at the Sheridan Snyder Tennis Center.
Junior Brice Allanic (Colombes, France) and sophomore Georgia Tech transfer Sebastian Lopez (Medellin Colombia) were awarded the No. 1 seed in the Orange doubles flight and proceeded to storm through two matches against opponents from Penn State and host UVa to claim the flight crown on Saturday.
The duo continued their solid play in singles as Allanic made it to the semifinals in the Black flight with wins over opponents from Morgan State and UVa before falling to No. 1 seed Jesus Bandres from East Tennessee State. Lopez, who was seeded No. 2, was also able to reach the semifinals in the Orange singles bracket with wins over competitors from Liberty and Wake Forest before falling to the eventual flight champion Robin Lesage from Binghamton University in three sets.
The Cougars will return to action on Oct. 17-20 at the ITA Carolina Regional Championships hosted by UNC in Chapel Hill, N.C.
