Men?s Tennis Downed In CAA Opener At No. 48 UNCW

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The College of Charleston men's tennis team fell this afternoon to the No. 48-ranked Seahawks of UNC Wilmington, 7-0, at the UNCW Tennis Complex.
The College (4-2) came up against tough competition in doubles, as the No. 49-ranked Seahawk duo of Rafael Aita and Sam Williams took down the junior-senior combo of Charlie Ghriskey (Mount Kisco, N.Y.) and Brice Allanic (Colombes, France) 8-3 on Court 1.
Singles proved no easier as No. 120-ranked Aita dispatched of freshman Rodrigo Encinas 6-4, 6-1 on Court 1. Pedro Mol of UNCW clinched the match for his team with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Ghriskey on Court 3.
The Cougars will look to bounce back next weekend when they play their first home match of the spring season against Georgia Southern at 1 p.m. at Patriots Point.
