
Men?s Tennis Opens Home Slate With Win Over Georgia Southern, 7-0

CHARLESTON, S.C. – After starting the season with six consecutive road matches, the College of Charleston men's tennis team opened their home campaign with a resounding, 7-0 win over Georgia Southern at the CofC Tennis Complex at Patriots Point on Sunday.
After taking two of three matches in doubles play to clinch the opening point, the College (5-3) continued to roll in singles, claiming all six matches in impressive fashion to hand the Eagles their eighth loss of the season.
Standing out for the Cougars were senior Brice Allanic (Colombes, France), who on court one dispatched of Oliver Webb, 6-3, 7-6, as well as freshman Chilean Rodrigo Encinas who stormed back from a first set loss to down Spaniard Albert Codina Sala, 4-6, 6-1, 10-4 on court 2. Also picking up points for the Cougars was Crescente Lesser, Charlie Ghriskey, Zack Lewis and Alon Faiman.
Next up for the College is a Tuesday, Mar. 4, road clash with UC Riverside, in Riverside, CA, where doubles play is set to begin at noon.
