College of Charleston: 3, Pittsburgh: 9
In game one, The Cougars jumped out to an early 2-0 lead but costly errors in the fifth inning would surrender six runs and ultimately doom the Cougars.
CofC struck early when Carly Hansis drove in Taylor DuPree and Mackenzie Maples on a single up the middle. That lead wouldn't last long as the Panthers plated two runs off a double down the right field line in the next half inning to tie things up at 2-2.
The College would counter in the bottom of the second to break the tie after Mueller brought in DuPree on a single of her own taking a 3-2 lead. Pittsburgh would knot things up at 3-3 with a single from Jenna Modic in the third.
Two errors by the Cougars opened the floodgates for the Panthers in the fifth inning, plating six runs on only three hits. Valerie Cassell was impressive in relief, striking out four of the six batters she faced in two innings.
College of Charleston: 7, Bowling Green: 2
The College jumped out to another 2-0 lead and never looked back in game two against Bowling Green.
Samantha Martin (3-1) gave up only two runs in seven innings and had five strikeouts in her second complete game of the season. Katie Padilla broke open the game in the first inning with two run double to give the Cougars the early lead.
The bats would come alive in the fourth when Mueller and DuPree each picked up an RBI before Carly Hansis blasted a two-run homer over left field to give the Cougars a 7-1 lead.
The Cougars would plate seven runs on 12 hits with Hansis and Padilla having two RBI's each.
