Men?s Tennis Drops Saturday Match Against Winthrop

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The College of Charleston men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Winthrop on Saturday.
The Cougars (4-2) entered the match riding a four-game winning streak with one loss on the season. The Eagles started the day with a winning record as well at 3-2 and got up on The College early by taking two of the three doubles flights for a 1-0 lead. Rodrigo Encinas and Juan Estevarena, the No. 1 doubles tandem for CofC, had their undefeated streak ended by Winthrop's top duo, 6-2.
Charleston accrued two points in the singles flights. In the No. 1 singles spot, Estvarena won in three sets, 6-0, 2-6, 6-4. He improved his singles record to 5-1 on the season. Ryan Khan scored The College's other point, winning the fifth singles flight by scores of 7-5 and 6-4. Khan's win was his fifth-straight singles win this season.
Next up for the College is a trip to Greensboro, N.C., to take on North Carolina A&T on Sunday, Feb. 21 at 10 a.m.
