Men?s Tennis Rebounds Against North Carolina A&T With 7-0 Sweep

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The College of Charleston men's tennis team got back to its winning ways with a 7-0 sweep of North Carolina A&T on Sunday.
The Cougars (5-2) entered the match coming off a tough road loss to Winthrop and rebounded by playing their best tennis of the year winning every competition except the third doubles line.
“Today was a good way to respond after our loss yesterday (at Winthrop),” CofC Head Jay Bruner said. “We are looking forward to getting back to practice this week. (Matt) Daly and (Josh) Record were huge for us today."
Matt Daly got his first win of the season with a straight-set 7-6, 6-1 victory at No. 6 singles, while Josh Record extending his win streak to two matches with a 6-1, 6-4 win at the No. 5 line. Juan Estevarena continued his dominance at the top of the order giving up only two games to North Carolina A&T's Arun Chapero, 6-0, 6-2.
In doubles competition, CofC's top combination of Rodrigo Encinas and Juan Estevarena won their fifth match of the season, 6-0, and Matt Daly and Zack Lewis won 6-4 at the No. 2 line to clinch the doubles point leading into singles play.
Up next, The College will travel to Coach Bruner's alma mater, Virginia Tech, for a Thursday, Feb. 25, match at 11 a.m. (ET) in Blacksburg, Va.
