Climbing the Ranks: Junior setter
Allison Beckman continues to make her way toward the top of the Cougars' record books with another fine season. With 30 assists in the Cougars' sweep of Appalachian State on Friday, the 5-foot-10 setter moved into seventh in program history, and currently sits at 2,707 assists for her career.
Free-Swinging Rachel: Junior
Devon Rachel put together another solid weekend to maintain her team-lead in kills per set, as the 6-foot outside hitter averaged 3.62 kills per set while hitting .303 in the Cougars' weekend split at Hofstra and Northeastern. She played nearly mistake-free volleyball with 29 kills and just two errors in 89 attempts. Rachel currently leads the Cougars in kills (3.66) and points (4.00) per set this season.
Leading the Charge: Seniors
Krissy Mummey and
Jane Feddersen continue to lead the line at the net for the Cougars, with the duo entering the week ranked second and fourth, respectively in the CAA in hitting percentage. Mummey paces the Cougars with a .385 attacking clip and 153 kills, while Feddersen carries a hitting percentage of .364 to go along with 77 smashes.
Scouting UNCW: The Seahawks enter Wednesday's matchup with a 6-8 overall record and a 0-2 mark in league play after falling to Northeastern and Hofstra, both by a score of 3-1, this past weekend. Maddy Kline paces the UNCW attack with an average of 2.51 kills per set, while five Seahawks are averaging at least two digs per frame.
