CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The No. 25 (VolleyballMag.com Mid-Major Poll) College of Charleston volleyball team opens a four-match home stand on Sunday when the Cougars welcome UNCW to TD Arena for a 1:00 pm matchup. Charleston defeated the Seahawks, 3-1, in the teams' first meeting of the season on Oct. 3 in Wilmington, N.C.
Series History
Sunday's match marks the 30th all-time meeting between CofC and UNCW. The Cougars lead the all-time series, 19-10, including a 3-1 win in Wilmington on Oct. 3.
Scouting UNCW
The Seahawks carry an 11-6 overall record and a 4-3 mark in conference action into the weekend. UNCW ranks second in the CAA in service aces (1.54) and blocks (2.44), and third in opponent hitting percentage (.179). Maddy Kline paces the Seahawks in kills per set (2.95) and ranks sixth in the league in service aces per set (0.33).

McKala Rhodes delivered one of the best performances of her career with a record-setting day at Towson last Sunday. The Charleston native established a new three-set single-match record with 26 digs - including 10 in set two - in the Cougars' straight-set sweep of the Tigers.
Filling the Gap
Freshman setter
Amani Dunston stepped up in a big way on Oct. 7 against Northeastern, tying a season-high with 23 assists and adding a campaign-best 12 digs to account for her first collegiate double-double.
Double-Double Maestros
Devon Rachel and
Lauren Freed have been models of consistency for the Cougars through the first 22 matches with 17 double-doubles. Freed has accounted for seven double-doubles thus far - including three straight to start the campaign - while missing the mark by only two or less digs in five other contests. Rachel owns 10 double-doubles this season, and has narrowly missed six more against Western Kentucky, Dayton, Pitt, Elon, William & Mary, and Northeastern.
Climbing the Ladder

Allison Beckman has continued her rise through the program's all-time assists list this season, and with a personal four-set best 57 assists on Sept. 15 against Liberty, became the fourth player in program history to reach the 4,000-assist mark. Beckman currently sits second all-time at CofC with 4,330 assists after dishing out 46 assists last Sunday at Towson.
Top Marks
The Cougars are off to a torrid start to CAA play, leading the league in digs per set (18.15) while ranking second in kills (14.00) and assists per set (13.26), and third in hitting percentage (.245).
Devon Rachel ranks second in the CAA in kills per set (4.33), while two Cougars -
Peyton Eisnaugle (.349) and
Kennedy Madison (.299) - rank fifth and 10th, respectively, in hitting percentage.
Allison Beckman leads the CAA in assists per set (11.72) in league play.
Rare Company
The Cougars are one of only two Division I programs with three active players in the top 50 in career kills, assists, and digs.
