PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – College of Charleston Men's Soccer will travel to Philadelphia, Pa. to face off against CAA foe Drexel on Saturday, Oct. 18 with kick-off scheduled for 7 p.m.
Last Outing
The College fell to UNCW in a tightly contested match on the road by a score of 1-0. Junior Jake Nicholson took a team-high three shots while senior Tucker Heffron and junior Cole Gulledge logged one shot apiece. Freshman keeper Austin Shuping made his second start of his collegiate career and registered three saves. The Seahawks scored the lone goal of the match in the 63rd minute, despite CofC having opportunities to even the score afterwards.
The Opponent
Drexel comes into the match with a 5-5-2 overall record and a 2-2-1 record in conference play. The Dragons have won two of their last three matches, including a 1-1 tie in double overtime to Hofstra. Head Coach Doug Hess is in the midst of his 10th season at the helm of the program. He has led his team to two NCAA Tournament berths during his tenure. The team is led by Chris Donavan who has scored six times on 33 shots this season and dished out one assist en route to 13 points.
