CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston Men's Soccer are set to play host to Delaware on Saturday, Oct. 5 with kick-off scheduled for 7 p.m. at Ralph Lundy Field at Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant, S.C.
Last Outing
CofC took on No. 6 nationally ranked Clemson on Oct. 1 and lost by a score of 3-0. The Tigers held the Cougars to only four shots throughout the entire match while shooting 17 themselves. Junior Rio Murray and sophomore Liam Hudock took the only shots of the match for the Cougars with two each. Freshman keeper Isac Alstrom logged a game-high three saves with six shots coming directly at goal.
The Opponent
Delaware finished the 2018 season with a 5-11-1 overall record and a 4-3-1 record in CAA play. This season, the Blue Hens have logged a 2-3-2 overall record with a 1-1-1 record in conference play. Delaware took on No. 23, at the time, West Virginia and got the win by a score of 1-0. Head coach Ian Hennessy is in the midst of his 14th season at the helm of the program. He has registered 103 wins with 119 losses and 32 ties throughout his tenure. The team is led by Timo Hummrich, four goals, and Rex Twum, three goals.

• Senior Tucker Heffron and junior Jake Nicholson lead the team in goals with two each.
• Juniors Rio Murray and Cole Gulledge scored their first goals of the season in a 3-2 loss against Winthrop.
• Junior Chris DeMartino and sophomore Steven Cahill logged an assist each in a 4-2 loss to Northeastern.
• Freshman Akshat Singh dished out his only assist of the season in a 1-0 win over Presbyterian.
• Tucker Heffron has taken a team-high 13 shots, six of them being on goal.
• Heffron was named to the Preseason All-Conference Team.
• The all-time series stands at 0-5-2 in favor of the Blue Hens, with the most recent match ending in a 2-1 victory for Delaware on Sept. 22, 2018.
