CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston Men's Soccer is set to travel to Elon, N.C. to face off against Elon in the last match of the season on Tuesday, Oct. 5 with kick-off scheduled for 7 p.m. The College's match against Davidson has been cancelled.
Last Outing
The College fell to James Madison on senior night on Oct. 26 by a score of 3-1. The Cougars fought hard against a JMU team who has taken down two Top-15 opponents in 2019. Senior Kevin Harris scored the lone goal for the Cougars when he received a Jake Nicholson through ball into the box. Although JMU held the edge in shots, 17-11, shots on goal were even at four for both teams.
The Opponent
The Phoenix come into the match with an overall record of 6-8-1 and a 1-5-0 record in CAA play. In their most recent matchup, the Phoenix fell to NC State by a score of 3-2 but won the previous three matches leading up to that loss. Elon was taken down by a score of 6-0 to JMU earlier this season. Head Coach Marc Reeves is in the midst of his third season at the helm of the program. In his first year, Reeves led his team to a 7-5-6 overall record and a 3-2-3 record in conference play. He has accumulated over 82 games throughout his coaching career. The team is led by Burl Shepard who has logged five goals and Inigo Bronte who has four goals on the season.
