Cougars Face Off Against UNCW In Home Opener

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston Men's Tennis is set to play host to CAA foe, UNCW, on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 11 a.m. in its home opener.

The Cougars
CofC comes into the match with an overall record of 4-1 and rides a four-match win streak. The Cougars fell in their season opener to Miami (Fla.) but bounced back strong with four consecutive wins, all on the road.

In its four wins, The College took down Belmont Abbey, North Carolina A&T, Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M, outscoring them 22-6 to improve to 4-1 on the season.

Last Outing
The College came out on top against Florida A&M by a score of 6-1. After winning the doubles point, Easton Thomas gave the Cougars a commanding 3-0 lead in the No. 4 singles position. Robby Krick then sealed the victory in the No. 5 position.

Scouting UNCW (11 a.m. start time)
UNCW comes into the match with an overall record of 3-4. The Seahawks lost their first two matches of the season to then-ranked No. 3 Southern California and No. 38 California Santa Barbara. They then went on a three-match win streak before falling to UNF to fall to 3-4 on the season.

Head coach Mait DuBois is in the midst of his 13^th season at the helm of the program. He has accumulated 192 wins and 89 losses throughout his tenure with the Seahawks.
