
Cougars Ready For CAA Quarterfinal Matchup With Tribe

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston men's tennis team will begin its quest for the 2021 Colonial Athletic Association Championship on Friday when the sixth-seeded Cougars face off with the third-seeded William & Mary Tribe in the quarterfinal round at 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening at the Millie West Tennis Facility in Williamsburg, Va.
The Cougars
Charleston comes into the match at 8-7 following a 6-1 setback to James Madison in the Cougar's regular season finale on April 17. Graduate student Guido Argentini leads the way for CofC with an 8-5 record in the top singles flight while sophomore Noah Borges follows close behind with an 8-7 mark. Ben Husum and Karl Mosterd have each accumulated seven wins in singles play. Husum and Robby Krick pace the team with a 10-3 mark in the third doubles flight as Mosterd and Jake Fraunfelder sport a 6-4 mark in doubles play. Argentini and Borges have accounted for six doubles wins as well.
Scouting William & Mary
William & Mary is 7-5 on the season and 1-1 in CAA play after falling to VCU, 6-1, on April 15. Sebastian Quiros paces the Tribe with a 7-5 mark in singles play while George Davis, Lev Kazakov and Finbar Talcott have each collected six singles victories. Davis and Brenden Volk lead the way with a 6-5 mark in the top doubles flight.

The semifinals on Saturday and championship on Sunday will be limited to team and player pass lists to keep the Millie West Tennis Facility within the limits of COVID-19 capacity. If matches are moved indoors due to inclement weather, the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center will be closed to all spectators.
