Cougars Fall at Charleston Southern Following Retirement in Deciding Match

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The College of Charleston women's tennis team fell 4-3 at cross-town foe Charleston Southern on Friday. The match was tied up at 3-3 entering the final match between Peyton Brotzman and Khyanna Singh on court five. Brotzman won the tiebreaking point, but suffered an injury and was unable to continue. The Bucanners won that match by retirement and edged out CofC, 4-3.

Last week's CAA Player of the Week Slade Coetzee breezed through her singles match (6-2, 6-2) to improve to 4-0 in singles play this season. Coetzee and Trinkle also improved to 3-0 in doubles play this season.

Halli Trinkle and Maja Jekauc picked up singles victories as well.
