Slimmer Earns First CAA Offensive Player of the Week Award

RICHMOND, VA. – College of Charleston sophomore forward Faith Slimmer has been selected the CAA Offensive Player of the Week after posting five points in wins over Alabama A&M and Coastal Carolina.
Slimmer began the season by being part of all three goals in a 3-0 victory over the Bulldogs. She provided helpers on both goals in the first half and added a score of her own after intermission. Slimmer made it three assists for the week when she aided on the second goal in another 3-0 triumph over the Chanticleers.
The Petersburg, N.J., product led the Cougars with nine shots and four shots on goal in the two wins. She has three goals and five assists in just over two collegiate seasons.
Charleston opened the season with two wins for the first time since 2014. The Cougars will look to make it three straight when they play their first road game of the season on Friday at Mercer.
