CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston hits the road to open the month of May as CAA newcomer North Carolina A&T awaits for a three-game series from World War Memorial Stadium. This weekend marks the first trip to Greensboro for the Cougars in series history as all 10 previous contests have been played in the Holy City.

Charleston is 2-0 against CAA new members in 2023 winning a series 2-1 versus Stony Brook in March and sweeping Monmouth on the road in April. Charleston is also 2-1 in their three CAA road series this year taking the opening weekend at William & Mary and falling at Delaware.

North Carolina A&T opened their inaugural CAA season alternating wins and losses over their first four series downing Towson and Hofstra but falling to the current Top-2 teams in Northeastern and UNCW. Since a rain-shortened 1-game series with Monmouth, the Aggies have swept William & Mary and been swept by Stony Brook. scoring just five runs over three games.

Scouting the Aggies
- North Carolina A&T enters the weekend 3-0 in home full CAA series with their only series loss coming as a 2-0 single contest with Monmouth due to weather. The last home series saw the Aggies sweep away William & Mary to improve to 13-9 at home.
- The Aggies sit sixth in the league in Team ERA (6.16) led by Coley Kirkpatrick (3-5, 5.33) and Jaheim Brown (1-5, 5.94) starting a combined 20 games. Jake Delisi (2-2, 5.89) has made a CAA-leading 21 appearances while Xavier Meachem (1-1, 5.06) has five saves sitting T-5th in the league.
- The Aggie offense is hitting just .261 on the season averaging 5.1 runs per contest. Camden Jackson leads the way with a .336 average and .875 OPS and team-high three triples. Tre Williams (.315) and Canyon Brown (.266) lead with 11 doubles each and seven home runs combined.
- Tre Williams was named CAA Co-Player of the Week March 27 after the Aggies took a home series over Hofstra scoring 22 runs over the three games. Coley Kirkpatrick was named the CAA Co-Pitcher of the Week April 24 alongside Charleston's Ty Good after tossing a complete game allowing just three hits and striking out 10 in a 2-1 win over William & Mary.

Series History
- Charleston and North Carolina A&T have met 10 times since 1991 with Charleston holding an 8-2 advantage. The Cougars secured the first wins in the series with all 10 contests having been played in the Holy City.
- Â North Carolina A&T is the only CAA new member the Cougars had met prior to 2023 (Stony Brook, Monmouth) last clashing in 2019 and 2021.
- In their eight wins, Charleston is averaging over 7.1 runs per game scoring in double figures three times. In their two losses the Cougars have scored three total runs, dropping both by a combined three runs as well.
- Charleston won both series played this century taking the first two contests in each before the Aggies salvaged a win in the finales. The Cougars and Aggies met in the Opening Weekend series in 2021 with a pair of one-run games and a Charleston 14-2 sandwiched between.

- Charleston has only lost three weekend series all season and are 1-1 in their next time on the field with a series win over UMBC and midweek loss to Wofford.
- The Cougars are 2-0 the following weekend after a series loss responding with a pair of wins over Hofstra to open April.
- Charleston is 2-1 in their road CAA series entering the month of May having swept at Monmouth in their last series away from Patriots Point. Charleston opened the conference slate with a series win at William & Mary and dropped their series at Delaware between those two.
