CHARLESTON, S.C.—The College of Charleston women's tennis team head coach Angelo Anastopoulo, has announced the addition of Maggie Cubitt and Anna Neyestani to the 2024 roster on Friday afternoon.
Cubitt comes to Charleston from Louisiana State where she was ITA Southern Regional Doubles Runner-Up. In her four seasons at Louisiana State, she posted a 24-17 singles record and a 41-30 doubles record. Cubitt was ranked No. 1 in South Carolina and No. 13 in the nation in the recruiting class of 2019.
"Maggie is a dream recruit," said Anastopoulo. "She was ranked so high nationally that we felt she was out of our league. Now to have her on our team proves that your dreams can come true. She will be a crowd favorite and will make an immediate impact both in singles and doubles. On her official visit, I got to know her parents well. They are wonderful and excited for Maggie to be earning her graduate degree at The College."
Neyestani joins the Cougars from Scottsdale, AZ, a 5-star recruit, she is currently ranked No. 58 in the nation.
"Anna is a great competitor and always shows a great heart with incredible class, " Anastopoulo stated. "I have watched Anna compete many times. Her older sister, Ava currently plays college tennis, so Anna knows what to expect. Her parents are very supportive and I'm confident they will be at many matches to cheer Anna and the Cougars to victory."
In the state of Arizona, she is ranked No. 1 with a 27-15 record.
