Callahan Earns Second CAA Weekly Award

RICHMOND, Va. – College of Charleston middle blocker Caitlyn Callahan was named the CAA Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in the month of September.
The graduate student had a .708 attacking percentage in the two matches against Campbell, recording 17 kills on 24 total attacks without recording a single error. On Friday, Callahan tallied nine kills on 13 total attacks (.692) along with four blocks in the sweep over the Camels. The Wellsboro, Pa., native followed that performance with an eight kill on 11 total attacks (.727) contest, adding in a block assist. Callahan averaged 2.83 kills/set and 0.83 blocks/set as Charleston improved to a league-best 4-0 in CAA action.
Callahan earned her second career weekly award and is the first CofC player to earn multiple CAA Offensive Player of the Week honors since Devon Rachel garnered it three times in 2018.
The Cougars face North Florida on Tuesday, Oct. 1 for a 6 p.m. match inside TD Arena. The match serves as the team's 'Student Appreciation Night' with giveaways and a raffle to win Apple AirPods and an Apple Watch.
