CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men's soccer team dropped a non-conference contest 5-1 to Boston University on Friday night at Patriots Point.
The Terriers struck first on the evening, finding a second chance shot three minutes into the contest before adding their second goal of the night in the 29
th minute.
Charleston found the back of the net in 32
nd minute off the foot of
Ben Bagshaw on a set piece.
Lennon Gill contributed on the quick touch assist to cut the deficit to one entering the half.
Boston added their third goal of the evening off a free kick to header make in the 60
th minute and another just five minutes later to make it 4-1 Terriers. The final Boston goal of the evening was a Charleston own goal.
Bagshaw's tally was his second goal of the year. Schumacher made 5 saves in his first career start in goal for the Cougars.
Charleston outshot Boston 14-13 while the Terriers took six corner kicks compared to the Cougars' four.
The Cougars return to Patriots Point on Monday, September 1 to host No. 15 North Carolina. Action is set for 6:00 p.m.
