
Charleston Wins CAA Opener Against Hofstra

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men's tennis team (8-4, 1-0) cruised to a 6-1 victory over Hofstra (0-12, 0-1) at the Turner Tennis Center on Thursday afternoon.
The Cougars won the doubles point and took a 1-0 lead after Jake Smith and Ram Mude cruised to a 6-2 win in slot No. 2 and Jakub Solarski and Eddie Vo won 6-4 on court one.
Charleston earned its second point via forfeit on court six. Leon Harder then collected a 7-5, 6-0 straight set win on court two before Dani Farran clinched the match for the Cougars as he won in dominating fashion (6-2, 6-3) in the No. 5 position.
Jake Smith then got Charleston's fifth point of the day with his own two set win (6-3, 7-5) on court four, while Ram Mude won a hard fought three set battle on court three (6-1, 6-7 (6), 1 (7)) to give the Cougars their sixth point.
The Pride won a three set competition on court one to make the final score 6-1 in favor of Charleston.

UP NEXT – The Cougars will stay in Charleston for a match with Drexel on Tuesday, March 24. The contest against Drexel will also be senior day where the Cougars four seniors will be honored. First serve against the Dragons is set for 2 p.m.
