
Three Cougars Tab CSC Academic All-District Honors

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Marra Bruce, Sia Cariov and Saige Severance of the Charleston women's tennis team earned CSC Academic All-District honors for the 2025-26 season.
The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. In order to earn the award, student athletes must be at least a sophomore in athletic and academic standing at their current institution, have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 and participate in at least 70% of their team's matches.
Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, which will be announced June 2.
Bruce is majoring in marketing and holds a 3.654 cumulative GPA. The redshirt sophomore from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania competed in 21 of the Cougars' 26 matches and collected 11 singles wins while competing primarily in the No. 5 position. Bruce also tabbed four singles wins against CAA opponents and earned a doubles win alongside Harper Santos in the Cougars' win over Randolph-Macon.
Cariov has a 3.854 cumulative GPA and has not declared a major. The Delray Beach, Florida native played in all 26 of Charleston's matches during her sophomore campaign. She earned All-CAA First Team Singles and All-CAA First Team Doubles recognition this year. Cariov collected 14 singles wins on court one and tabbed seven singles victories over CAA opponents. She also recorded 12 doubles wins alongside Francesca Salvato on the No. 1 court and earned 13 total doubles victories during the 2026 spring season.
Severance holds a 3.923 cumulative GPA and has not declared a major. The sophomore from Charleston, South Carolina competed in 23 of CofC's 26 matches during the 2026 spring season. Severance collected three singles wins and tallied 11 total doubles victories, including five doubles wins over CAA opponents.
Charleston ended the 2026 season 17-9 and 6-2 in conference play. CofC made the NIT Championships for the first time in program history and defeated North Texas in the quarterfinals on May 5 to secure the program's first postseason victory in Division I history. Charleston also advanced to the CAA Championship semifinals for the second consecutive year and ninth time in program history.
Additionally, five Cougars received CAA postseason honors, including Sia Cariov for All-CAA First Team Singles, Oziera Ahmad and Jaiden McKee for All-CAA Third Team Singles, Cariov and Francesca Salvato for All-CAA First Team Doubles and Ahmad and Riley Trinkle for All-CAA Third Team Doubles.
